Only Website Building Today

Wow, there’s another recommended upgrade for WordPress already. Looks like this one might just take a few minutes. It’s on my list for tomorrow.

Got my 2nd adsense site built today based on the process taught by my adsense coach. That means I also go my second batch of articles back from my writer. She did a really good job again, but the topic is so dry. Do people really search for information on that topic? I guess so. Maybe I’ll stick to niches that I am more interested in personally, just to make the process more enjoyable.

I purchased a WSO (Warrior Special Offer) on the Warrior Forum a short time ago that promises a technique to draw backlinks and traffic. I’ve read it over a couple times and it’s very creative and something I would never in a million years have thought of. I plan to implement it tomorrow. I’ll let you know what the results look like.

Lots of updates coming soon with Blogini. Ken Fox was describing some of his plans last night on a training call. It’ll be an incredible program for anyone doing any marketing on the internet. I’ll keep you posted on that too.

That’s all for now.

Keyword Avalanche Opening to New Members Soon

I learned today that Keyword Avalanche will be opening for new members nearer the end of January. This rarely happens, so if you’re interested, visit soon, or you’ll lose your chance.

Keyword Avalanche basically offers everything a marketer needs to know to succeed online regardless of niche area. They cover white, gray, and black hat techniques and everything in between. There is a private forum that is very active. I visit daily. There’s a ton of good discussion going on. The tone is friendly and encouraging. There are detailed explanations of how to implement all sorts of techniques. There are discounts on products, a membership to NicheBot 2 for keyword research, 200 exclusive articles a month, and audio interviews with experts. It’s really loaded.

One of the biggest benefits is first hand access to Tim Gorman who is THE expert on article marketing, along with experts in a bunch of other fields, like blogging, tag and ping, mindset, etc.

Do check it out now if you’re at all interested. Now that I’m in, I wouldn’t let it go.

That’s it for now.

WordPress Hackers

Learned tonight that some people have recently had their WordPress blogs hacked into. I learned this on the Keyword Avalanche forum. Also learned there was an upgrade available, 2.0.6, and upgrading is highly recommended. That became my evening.

I got everything reconstructed for the most part after losing my custom formating in the upgrade process. All of my content was preserved. Overall, very successful.

We’re in the middle of a wonderful snowstorm! The first really good one in my area this year, and I live in Minnesota!

That’s all for now.

Website Building and HTML

Spent some time today re-creating an adsense site in XSitePro. NVU failed for me too many times and I kept having to redo work. Not cool, so I moved to XSP and got it done with enhancements in no time.

I’d love to improve my skills and knowledge with html, so I think I’ll still check out 1stPage2006 and/or Joomla. Seems like overall my work would be easier if could just create a bunch of html without having to look everything up, no matter what program I use. I really like Orwell Pro, and that’s one program where a little more html skill would be a great help.

Orwell Pro assists in finding content and uploading it to WordPress or XSitePro sites. I especially like it when I use the Article Underground announcer blogs. I can easily fill in a couple details and upload snippets to the blogs from one “control panel” on my desktop. Saves tons of time, and voila! I have PR4 or PR5 links to my sites. No html is really necessary to use Orwell Pro, but a little bit of knowledge is helpful.

I’m also appreciating Orwell Pro for locating and uploading articles for my YellowDogMarketing website. Really makes it easy. That site is definitely a work in progress.

I’m coming across a ton of really good information on Squidoo. Ray LaFoy puts out a newsletter I really like, and in this week’s edition he outlines steps to take to get a quality lens up and going on Squidoo. Very helpful.

That’s all for now.

My First Day on Squidoo

Everything was sailing along today and then a glitch tonight. I hate it when that happens! I just sent out an email to a list before I tested the links, and they did not work. No amount of troubleshooting helped. Oh well, that one was wasted!

I played with Squidoo today. Got a lens started. It should be here. I’ll do a bunch more reading about Squidoo and plan to do a good job with the lens and add some others as well. My first lens is about, of course, Boy Million. I understand that Squidoo is a great source of targeted traffic rather than much of a money maker in itself. You build a lens to talk about a particular topic and send traffic to your other sites through the links you include. Probably simplifying a bit, but that’s the gist of it. I also understand Squidoo is more populated by older adults and less so by teens and twenty-somethings like MySpace. I’ve got a start, that’s cool.

There’s a very very wonderful video on www.squidoo.com/goldenretrievers/ .  Scroll about half-way down the page and there’s a YouTube video.  I laughed and cried, but I absolutely adore dogs.  It’s only about 2 minutes and I think well worth the time.

That’s it for now!
