YouTube Termination then Unsuspension?

One final post on the saga of YouTube suspending my account.

I was willing to just wait out the 6 month suspension and let it go at that. But, I was contacted by YouTube on Dec. 22, 2011 and notified that my account:

“has been found to have violated our Community Guidelines. Your account has now been terminated. Please be aware that you are prohibited from accessing, possessing or creating any other YouTube accounts.”

They again sited the video review of the children’s trike as the offending video.

I replied to their email with this response:

I am absolutely shocked at your decision. This video is a review of a children’s toy. How could it possibly violate community standards? This seems incredibly arbitrary and your links to other YouTube resources give me no more information whatsoever. I bet someone just had a bad day.

Why did my account go from 6 mo. suspension, as stated in the original email about this matter, to termination?

Are you aware there are at least 7 other videos on YouTube right now that are an exact duplicate of the one that you flagged for terminating my account?

I feel very very wronged by your decision. This is unbelievable.

That was that. From everything I had read about suspended/terminated accounts on various forums and blogs, it was pretty clear there was nothing more I could do to get my account reinstated.

Then on Jan. 6, 2012, out of the blue, I received this email from YouTube:

Hi there,

Thank you for your email.

After a review of your account, we have confirmed that your YouTube
account is not in violation of our Terms of Service. As such, we have
unsuspended your account. This means your account is once again active and
operational.

If you forgot your password, please visit this link to reset it:

Regards,

The YouTube Team

Unbelievable. I do feel relieved. The whole thing really bugged me because I hadn’t done anything wrong. I guess I really don’t like unfair, arbitrary decisions with no recourse.

So for all the other folks out there who have had their YouTube accounts terminated for no reason, there is hope. Hopefully you will also receive an email someday announcing the “unsuspension” of your account.

More on YouTube Suspending My Account

I have an answer about why my YouTube account was suspended. When I was searching around for a way to get an answer from YouTube, it occurred to me to check my Gmail spam filter because everyone else mentioned getting a notification from YouTube, but I hadn’t. Sure enough, there it was.

I learned one of the videos in my account had been flagged as inappropriate. YouTube reviewed this and decided the video is in violation of community guidelines. I was shocked. It’s a video about a children’s toy. I bought it as part of a plr package of articles and videos about toys for Christmas.

If you’re curious, watch this:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/8673videos/Razor+360.flv

Any ideas how this could be considered inappropriate? I have no clue.

In the email, YouTube said the suspension is for 6 months. Okay, good. It’s not forever. But I sure don’t plan to upload any videos to YouTube in the future. The “community guidelines” are way too arbitrary for my taste.

I do find it pretty funny that an official email message from YouTube would end up in my Gmail spam. Serves them right!

Leave a comment if you have any thoughts about what made this video inappropriate. Thanks.

HTML to WordPress the Easy Way

HTML to WordPressDo you have any sites created in html that you wish were now on WordPress instead? I do, and I prefer WordPress for it’s ease of use, theme options and multitudes of plugins. My first foray into transitioning sites from html to WordPress was almost two years ago already.

I used the copy and paste method and painstakingly preserved the urls so I didn’t end up with a ton of 404 errors. I was pleased with the result, but must admit it took a long time. I followed my made up method with about about a half dozen sites.

I still have some html sites that I am now ready to move to WordPress. I didn’t do these ones before because I was letting the sites languish a bit. Now I realize the themes for the sites still have great Adsense potential and I want to revive them, but I also want to move them to WordPress.

It’s great news that a member of the Earn1KaDay forum, Leanne King, has now developed a training package demonstrating how to easily transform an html site into a WordPress site. It doesn’t matter which program the html sites were created with – XSitePro, Dreamweaver, Kompozer, etc.  All can be transformed. (I understand it even works with php.)

In this program, Leanne offers videos and pdf descriptions of:

  • Installing and configuring WP
  • 3 different ways to add your html pages to WP
  • Cleaning up your site and fixing the permalinks
  • Customizing your theme.

She is very detailed which helps a lot.

I found the process easy to follow and it works like a charm.  I like the Site Siphoning method the best because it’s easy, effective and sure beats copying and pasting all those pages/posts.  If you’re planning to switch some sites to WordPress, check out HTML to WP — then let me know what you think.

Earn 1K a Day: The Best Forum for Internet Marketers?

Click Here to Go to E1KaD Now!

There are very few internet marketing memberships online like Earn 1K a Day (E1KAD). This place is a hive of activity with hundreds of very satisfied members. Most of these folks are not interested in leaving either, with a huge number of orginal members still hanging around. Recently the opportunity to be a lifetime member became available and a lot of us eagerly took up the offer. Let’s have a closer look at what goes on behind the scenes, to see why we are a contented bunch.

The Quality of the Management

Dennis Becker is a guy that few had heard of up until 2006. It was then that he launched what became a bestseller of an ebook titled, “5 Bucks a Day”. This was a hugely popular release describing Dennis’ initial strategy for success. Its still very popular today. Dennis built a forum for the customers of the 5BaD guide as a place to share thoughts and strategies. From there he went on to create Earn 1k a Day.

Rachel Rofe, a well respected marketer and copywriter, joined in partnership with Dennis in 2010. Together they now run this popular forum. The main aim is to help the members become very successful. Ultimately the key objective is for each member to make $1000 in pure profit in just 24 hours. Of course it’s intended that this should be repeatable and not just a one time thing. Testimonials on the site tell us that many have reached this impressive milestone, while many others are finding success in smaller increments. Of course, any level of success is not guaranteed. It all depends on your willingness to take focused action.

Dennis maintains a community of marketers who are supportive and respectful of one another while still challenging each other to reach further toward their goals. I’ve seen many internet marketing forums – especially free ones – where the participants are far from respectful. At E1KaD we build each other up and celebrate success. While constructive criticism can be helpful sometimes, nastiness in never tolerated and is handled quickly.

Clearly E1KaD differs from many of the other forums that Internet Marketers hang out in. It has a friendly atmosphere with members at all levels of experience. Some are just starting out, where as others have paid their dues, honed their skills and now are extremely successful. The experience these marketers have gained spills into the forum discussions daily. Members share their success, they support, they mentor, they encourage. No one is left with not knowing what action to take. It’s such a valuable asset to be able to ask any question, no matter how basic, without fear of ridicule, and know you’re going to get an honest answer.

What to Expect from the Membership?

The discussion forum is the primary component of theE1KaD membership and it is pretty active all of the time. There are tens of thousands of posts on all topics imaginable. The main business models for earning income on the internet each have their own topic in the forum. There are currently about 12 of them, but more can be added as new viable strategies emerge in the field. Examples of business models covered in detail are website flipping, email marketing, niche marketing and product creation.

Other forum areas include “The Idea Incubator.” This is an area where members toss around ideas for future plans that they may have. “The Mindset” forum helps with all sorts of things to help marketers get in the right mind frame, for instance, with productivity.

Another core element to the membership is the product download section. Many of the members take full advantage of being able to download digital products like guides, templates, graphics and video training programs, provided by Dennis and Rachel. Each week at least two new products are added and often more. If anyone comes across a good product that all can benefit from, then it will often be made available, as well including Warrior Special Offers where terms allow.

What don’t I like about E1KAD?

I used to read every single post anybody made. I don’t anymore, because I found myself spending way too much time visiting the forum and not as much time focusing on income generating tasks of my own. I still check in a couple times a day, but nothing like I use to. Focus has been a challenge for me. I guess it’s good that it is also emphasized on the forum as crucial for success.

Summing it up

No matter what experience level you’re at, the likelihood is that a place like E1KAD can help you fill in the holes and put the internet marketing puzzle together. If you need a solid business model it’s in there, if you need guidance then that’s there too. If you just need to problem solve about something then drop in to do that — even personal stuff is welcome in the lounge area!

Don’t underestimate the level of expertise available to you as a member. Many of these guys you won’t know by name, but believe me their success exceeds many that you will have heard of! You won’t be left not knowing what to do! Just ask and watch what happens.

At the moment you can see if what I’m saying is true for the price of a small latte. Yes $2.95 for a ten day trial and that gets you into all areas in Earn 1k a Day. (It’s a steal!) Try it out before they decide the membership is full. I guarantee you’ll like what you find on the inside.
