Is there a good Blog Directory Submitter?

Just a quick post to say I’ve spent some time using Submit ‘em now — the Firefox plugin I mentioned in the last post — and I can’t recommend it. It seems in need of maintenance. (It is free, so maybe that’s the best I can expect?) I suppose if you have the time and want to stick with it, you could get some value, but maybe not.

The program works similarly to Link Directory Submitter. There is a list of blog directories to submit your site to, for SEO backlink building. You click on a directory and the registration page should appear with all or most of your blog’s information already loaded. You might have to choose a category or something, but the process should take seconds.

What I found was more directories are not accessible than are accessible, my information was not filled in, or the directory was charging a fee. Overall it felt like a waste of time. Looks like I need to do more research to find a good blog directory submitter. Apparently this one is just not being kept up.

In the case of Link Directory Submitter, the opposite is the case. They maintain it scrupulously, adding and deleting website directories regularly to make sure the software is up to date and current. Once you input your site information, you can really roll and get registered on dozens of sites in a fairly short time span. I highly recommend Link Directory Submitter, but will be deleting the Submit ‘em now plugin right away.

Deal Dot Com and Other New Stuff

Jason Potash and friends have just launched Deal Dot Com. Have you heard of it yet?

This is a brand new website that will offer a discounted Internet marketing product every day. The products will be high quality and already well known. You’ll be able to pick up some gems at a great price. It’s free to sign up with and only costs something if you buy a product. Pretty cool.

The best deal though is the 2 tier affiliate program. You earn a profit when anyone you refer buys a product! The 2 tier part says that if your referral also refers some people who buy products, you earn then too! Pretty cool again.

It’s an excellent way to make some passive income. The products will be great. This launch is already going viral. Almost every marketer will want to sign up. Why not under you? Check out Deal Dot Com here.

Another find this week is a Firefox plugin called, Submit ‘em Now. It’s free all the way. With this add on you can submit your blog automatically to over 100 blog directories. It’s creator is Ross Goldberg, who went on to create some other submission software as well. Using this can announce the existence of your blog on a much broader sphere. I’ll be testing it out and report back.

I’m so busy checking out great WordPress plugins, I forget about Firefox and all the cool stuff there!

That’s it for now. Have a good one!

P.S. I mentioned FreeBayRSS awhile ago. There was a little mixup in the coding, so a delay in making it available to you. I’ll do that asap, though.

Fringe Benefits of Earn1KaDay

I’ve been playing a lot lately. Actually, learning a whole bunch in the process.

I really enjoy working on blogs and websites. Tonight I’ve been uploading articles to one of my websites. The site is built with XSitePro, and I’ve been using Orwell Pro to upload the articles. I love that software. I’ve set it up so the articles upload with the adsense blocks and keywords already in place. Very easy and effective.

I’ve also been following a tutorial by one of the members of Earn1KaDay on creating a master installation and building a WordPress blog in just minutes. This is going to be super valuable as time goes on. I’m tempted to begin building all my sites with WordPress. Especially with the plugin I talked about in my last post.

This plugin, BayRSS, was created by Azlan Kasim. He has upgraded it again. It now incorporates a “no follow” to prevent the bots from heading off to eBay and also includes an Amazon feed generator in addition to the eBay one. I’ll demonstrate again soon. I also promised a free version of the plugin and I’ll get that up soon too.

Azlan is super creative and talented in his programming. He is also a member of Earn1KaDay. Clearly a valuable site to be affiliated with!

I hope all is well with you. Thanks for visiting.

Display eBay Auctions Anywhere

I've been playing around with some ebay plugins and scripts for setting up ebay auctions on some websites and blogs.

The first software program I installed is called Affiliate Success:ebay (or AS:e).  This is a super powerful program that I find super intimidating.  Because of that, I have checked out some others as well.  So, the second program is Build A Niche Store (BANS). This script is pretty easy to upload and much more user friendly, but also much less powerful than AS:e.

BANS creates a niche store full of ebay ads for your category.  Not surprising, just as the name implies.  You can also add articles and other content to your store, including adsense and affiliate links, etc.  You are limited to just the store format with this software.

The AS:e script can be used to create a store, but it can also be integrated into blogs and websites in any size blocks you designate. So it's much more versatile than BANS.

Another option that I'm liking are the WordPress plugins. These are specifically, phpBaylite and BayRSS.  I only used the free version of phpBay, but have a paid version of BayRSS.  Obviously I can't compare them, but I do like the layout of the auctions using BayRSS much better than phpBaylite.

Here's an example:

If you don't yet have an ebay account, you'll want to sign up.  Click the "Register Now!" link in the left sidebar to be taken to the page to do that now.

I'll have a free sample of the BayRSS plugin available for you in a day or two.  Do come back, and in the meantime, have a good one!

Backlink Solutions is a Breeze

I am loving Backlink Solutions

This membership allows you to post to over 100 blogs to create backlinks to your sites. All you have to do is post a snippet of content with an embedded anchor text/destination url and you're good to go. There is supporting software available both to create the snippet with your link, and to post to the blog automatically. You don't have to access the blog itself at all.  You can create backlinks to any of your sites that you want to right from the same interface. Very easy, and I'm already figuring out shortcuts to make the process quicker.

The downside is that Backlink Solutions is a new service and a number of the blogs have not had a lot of time to age and build page rank yet.  You start out with access to blogs with PR 1-4.  Most have PR2 or PR3.  I understand as you stick around, you will have access to blogs with higher PR, and I assume with time and content, the original blogs will grow in rank as well.

This is a great source of links. Combine these with web 2.0 backlinks, some directories, some article sites, a couple of your own blogs and Squidoo lenses, and you could build up a good number of links pointing to your sites.  Maybe not enough to take on the big guys in the real competitive niches, but you sure don't have to go there. Focus on keywords that are less searched with lower competition and you can be very successful with your search engine ranking.

That's where I'm headed.  I'll let you know how it goes.
