Fringe Benefits of Earn1KaDay

I’ve been playing a lot lately. Actually, learning a whole bunch in the process.

I really enjoy working on blogs and websites. Tonight I’ve been uploading articles to one of my websites. The site is built with XSitePro, and I’ve been using Orwell Pro to upload the articles. I love that software. I’ve set it up so the articles upload with the adsense blocks and keywords already in place. Very easy and effective.

I’ve also been following a tutorial by one of the members of Earn1KaDay on creating a master installation and building a WordPress blog in just minutes. This is going to be super valuable as time goes on. I’m tempted to begin building all my sites with WordPress. Especially with the plugin I talked about in my last post.

This plugin, BayRSS, was created by Azlan Kasim. He has upgraded it again. It now incorporates a “no follow” to prevent the bots from heading off to eBay and also includes an Amazon feed generator in addition to the eBay one. I’ll demonstrate again soon. I also promised a free version of the plugin and I’ll get that up soon too.

Azlan is super creative and talented in his programming. He is also a member of Earn1KaDay. Clearly a valuable site to be affiliated with!

I hope all is well with you. Thanks for visiting.

Being Careless with a GoTryThis Database

So yesterday I was attempting to upload a script for a program I recently purchased, Build A Niche Store. Part of the process is creating a mysql database.  I've done this a number of times, so no problem.  But in my effort to keep the server clear of clutter, I accidentally deleted the database for GoTryThis.  Very bad move!

(I thought it was the database for a free version I had installed and decided not to use…)

There went all my affiliate links for every program I have ever promoted on the Internet along with all the data tracking those links.  Darn!

After much frustration trying to create a new database and link it to the existing script, I ended up deleting the whole GoTryThis script from the shared server and reinstalling it with it's own account. (Not quite sure of the correct terminology here. It's a reseller account, so I made sure no other databases will ever be confused with the GTT database again!)

Then I recreated as many links as I could, from a spreadsheet I had created for backup.  Everything is working well again, and the program is now set up on the server in a much safer way.  So in the end it's good.

Lessons learned:  Be much more careful before deleting anything from a server!  Make sure I back up all databases very regularly.

For those who don't know, GoTryThis is a link cloaking and tracking program.  It's super easy to use and does the job well for me.  I have the white hat version and it's all I need.  The black hat version is probably more for those super affiliate types who really want the edge in competition.

Ultimately I got Build A Niche Store (BANS) installed fine and I'm off and running.

What the Heck is E1KaDay?

This blog has been like a ghost town.  Sorry about that.

I've been upto a whole lot.  I'm back to focusing on article marketing and link building big time, and this time it is going to stick.  I've learned about some excellent resources and have a plan in place.

I'm mostly going to outsource the article writing. That will be for quite a few websites but at a fabulous price. Then the articles will be submitted to directories through a submission service, and they'll all be unique.  I'll even be able to recoup most of my costs for the article outsourcing through Associated Content.  Pretty cool.

My focus and motivation to move forward and take consistent action is greatly influenced by the membership forum at earn1KaDay.com.  It's a very active, generous, supportive group of people.  The owner, Dennis Becker, is creating video series to demonstrate methods to earn income online.  There are 2 very detailed tutorials available right now and more to come. The forum is only a couple months old and is evolving according to the members' interests.  Dennis is actively involved and other leaders are emerging.  It's very exciting and pretty cheap too.  Here's a video created by one of the members if you'd like to learn more – E1KaDay

I've done some more work on my Squidoo lens.  It's kind of fun and I have lots more ideas for the coming weeks… or months?

That's it for now.  I'll be back soon.

Affiliate Promotions and Adsense Websites

I have been working diligently getting the Niches-in-a-Box sites up and running. This involves a whole bunch of tweaking of the pages in FileZilla — a whole bunch. The training videos are the best I’ve worked with though. My head is also spinning from researching affiliate programs. Wow! But I’m getting there.

Then there’s the promotion. I swear I’m going to become an ace at promotion! I’ll promote the heck out of the NIAB sites and my old adsense sites.

These old adsense sites are, by the way, no longer adsense sites. I read too much about Google going after people who have a bunch of made for adsense sites and shutting down their adsense accounts. I don’t have a ton of made for adsense sites, but am not up for the risk. So I have removed some adsense blocks from each of the sites and added some pretty good affiliate banners.

I’m going to promote the heck out of those too. The niches are still red hot.

If you’re into marketing and adsense, I highly recommend reading Eric Giguere’s blog — memwg.com. He’s innovative and leaves out the hype.

That’s it for now. Thanks for visiting!

Niches-In-A-Box | Earn1KaDay

Wow! I have spent the week pretty super focused uploading and configuring some websites that I purchased. The effort feels intense, but gratifying. Today I have worked on the attached blogs – activating plug-ins, editing themes, etc. I feel accomplished. The next step is to load the blogs up with content using the post timestamp and drip it on over the next year.

I mentioned JP Schoeffel’s Niches-In-A-Box membership awhile ago, and I did decide to check it out. These sites are pretty cool. Pretty advanced. High quality. I’m learning a whole lot. Ultimately I’d love to be able to make sites like these for myself, but that’s a long ways off.

Next week, I tackle the “Mini Money Sites” project that Dennis Becker has taught the members of “Earn1KaDay.” I have all the tools I need and now I have to dig in and learn to put them together. I hope to get 2 or 3 sites up. It’s a really valuable, and inexpensive membership.

The step after that is learning to be profitable with adwords. This intimidates the heck out of me! Not sure I have the courage.

Something else I mentioned a few weeks ago is the AdSpyPro software that allows you to learn what keywords and campaigns are profitable through adwords. Today a new program was introduced that allows you to protect your landing pages from being spied upon. It’s free! Here’s the URL: http://www.ppcdefender.com/  (I just learned it might not really serve it’s purpose though…)

That’s enough for now. It’s time to enjoy my weekend!
