Well, it’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted to this blog. That’s not because I haven’t been making progress, but because I’ve been focusing on a million other things.
One update was moving from Blogger to Word Press with this blog. I’d heard that it was not a good idea to keep a blog under Google’s control because of their propensity to remove blogs for no apparent reason. Immediately after getting the WP blog up on the server and importing the previous posts, the template “broke.” It looked out of alignment and wouldn’t allow me to make any more posts. Boo. So I’ve been learning about Word Press and busy setting up some other blogs. Now I’m back here too.

I chose BlueHost as my first hosting account. I can post 6 domains there for under $10 a month. This company offers great customer service, which is what drew me to them in the first place. The drawback is they offer no tutorials to learn the ins and outs of ftp and getting sites published. I had to dig through their knowledge base trying to figure out what to do next. This is tough not even knowing what to look for. So I called customer service nearly every step of the way. Now that I know my way around FileZilla and ftp, I can highly recommend BlueHost.
I also opened an account with Hostgator. This allows unlimited domains for about $10 a month. I like this one the best. They offer great customer service, a bunch of video tutorials, and links to manuals to find answers to questions.
Then, I’m also going with Godaddy for 1 domain. My plan is to have accounts with a number of hosting companies so I can do some cross linking. I really like Godaddy, both their ease of use and support. They’re about $4 a month for 1 domain and I won’t hesitate to add another here.
Actually, as I look back over the past several weeks, I’m disappointed in my progress. I’ve learned a ton but don’t have the results I’d like to report. I have several websites and blogs up and running. But it’s a drop in the bucket compared to what I hope to create. I guess I’m building a foundation. I’ll keep moving ahead. I’m having a blast. I love that I get to do this. What a blessing.
More soon on site building software, private label articles, Blogini, and more.
