Just as last weekend, I’ve spent less time focused on my work the last few days. That’s okay. But now it’s 2007 and I should have a clear plan for the year but I don’t. At least no more detailed than what I have been doing in recent months.
The Nitro Marketing boys sent an email regarding a planning process. Makes sense for me to check it out and spend some time getting clear. If I’m serious about being successful, I have to be serious about following business planning principles too.
One thing I read today was a strong recommendation to have mentors if you plan to be successful. I think it was Anik Singal who wrote this among many other things. That’s something I definitely want to keep in mind in the coming months. Right now I think of Ken Fox (Blogini and Boy Million) as a mentor. He is a teacher and guide, and readily offers support on any issue. He is also planning a class soon for teaching internet marketing skills to those of us involved in Blogini who are interested. Makes sense to learn a process from someone who knows what they are doing, then I can expand from there. I have to be past the days of trying to figure everything out on my own.
I’m also working with a coach who is teaching skills at creating profitable adsense sites. She definitely knows her stuff and she has contracted to teach a number of other skills before the course is complete. I think of her as a mentor too. I’m going to do my first outsourcing with this class, and have articles written for me instead of trying to do it all myself. I’m making great progress on the keyword research, by the way.
I learned of some software that will automatically create links for keywords that you include in the posts. Sure would save time. Should I go for it? There is so much great software that will automate almost everything. I’d love to buy it all.
Mike Liebner from Article Underground sent an email today about his research on duplicate content. Important topic to keep up on. I’ll check out what he wrote in more detail and write more about it. Mike adds a ton of value besides articles and announcer blogs.
It’s time to feel like a marketer and not a newbie, which means that’s how I have to act. How’s that for a resolution?
